WHY YOUR SOLAR SYSTEM STOPS GENERATING ELECTRICITY

1. Shade might be Covering Your Solar Panels

As we all know solar panels are set in an open space to absorb sunlight, so there are chances that the tress that grows near the panels may hamper the panels from getting proper sunlight. This will eventually reduce your system’s performance. 

So always check that there is no shade covering your panels and make necessary cuts. 

2. Dirt on Solar Panels

Solar panels are cleaned itself when there is rainfall but it requires to be cleaned over some time. It may get dirty at times due to bird droppings, tree sap, leaves, and other elements. So it needs to be cleaned properly to maintain the efficiency of the panels.

If you ever found that your panels have dust on them or need some cleaning, you must call your installer for service or clean it by yourself with some precautions. 

If you want to clean them on your own then make sure you gently brush down the dust on your solar panels with some cool water and soap. Be careful while climbing on the roof. 

3. Issues occur in your solar inverter 

There might be some faults in your inverter, which leads to some issues in your system. But the question is how you will get to know about it? 

So the simplest way of checking that is your inverter performing well is by looking at the glowing light present on the inverter during the day. If the light is glowing green then it is working properly. But if the light is glowing red or orange then there might be some problem in it that should be checked. This is the sign of any fault in your inverter.

The solution is to call your installer and get the thing done before it causes big problems in the future. 

4. Solar Meter Is Not Installed

Make sure before installing your solar system or it starts operating, you must have a solar meter installed. Talk to your electricity provider and they will arrange it for you and get it installed. 

5. Your PV Panels Are Affecting Your Circuit Breaker

It may happen that sometimes your circuit breaker is not working properly. This usually happens as the panels get affected due to rain, heat, connection errors, broken wires. 

So if any such things happen, it gives a sign that there might be an issue with the solar panel conductor which should be checked.

6. Your Solar Panels Gets Over Heated

However, solar panels are designed in such a way that it absorbs the heat but overheating may hamper the efficiency of the panels by around 10%. So it may happen that when the temperature rises by 25 degrees or more, the panel’s efficiency decreases.

7. A Loose or Broken Wire On Your Panel Array

If you are not getting a significant power supply, then it may be because the wires are broken somewhere or loosed due to which the solar array will not be able to provide energy to the inverter system.  So always check the wires are properly connected as it may cause serious risk in the future.
