Solar Battery Or Generator: Comparison

Though technology has upgraded a lot in recent years, the problem of power outages is still there. One perfect solution for this is generators as they offer power solutions for many homes. The other way is the solar battery as it helps in eliminating the drawbacks of power outages.

What are the limitations of the generator?

No doubt that generators are easily available and can be operated easily.

  • Generators are not economical: As compared to solar power, generators are not economical in usage and thus does not cover your power cost much. So as a result, even your generator expenses will be added to your electricity bills.

  • Generators release carbon monoxide: Generators are fueled with diesel along with carbon monoxide that transmits nitrous oxide into the air. This can be harmful to the environment and can cause serious health problems.

  • Generators may cause fire hazards: Generators can be harmful to locations such as wildfires and earth-prone localities. It may lead to fire emergencies.

  • Generators may be rather loud: Generators are usually loud but large generators may cause loud noise and it becomes extremely irritating at times.

  • Generators have a shorter warranty period: Small generators come with 3-5 years which does not include the minimal maintenance service. So customers should keep an eye on the maintenance of their generator at regular intervals so as to keep it functional for a long period.

Role of a solar battery in overcoming the generator’s limitations:

  • Solar batteries are very affordable and have a long lifespan just like solar panels. It is always suggested to invest in solar batteries as it requires a one-time investment but provides long term benefits.

  • Solar batteries do not damage the environment. They are a renewable energy source that does not emit any hazardous gases in the air so it is very much safe.

  • They do not lead to any kind of fire damages so they are very much safe to handle.

  • Solar batteries are completely quiet and do not produce any amount of noise. So, it does not cause any disturbances or inconvenience to customers.

  • Solar batteries have a warranty period ranging between 10-15 years which often includes parts and labor service coverage. They require a hassle-free installation process and require minimal maintenance.

The additional benefits of a Battery:

  • Solar batteries are safe to use: They do not require gasoline maintenance and run efficiently within the home without extended cable connections.

  • Extended periods of power: When your system gets low, a battery offers a minimum backup time of 8 to 12 hours without any extra expenses. The best advantage of solar batteries is they get electricity directly from sunlight so they will keep running till the sun shines.

Conclusion

After taking the above facts into consideration, now we can surely say that solar batteries definitely work as a better alternative for generators. It is high time now to understand the importance of solar power and adopt it so as to make our effort in contributing o a better environment.
